Workers Compensation Insurance

Workers Compensation is vital to most business owners and required by law. 

All employees must be covered, however corporations with one or two executive officers and or sole proprietors or partners may elect to include or exclude themselves.  Basically, Workers Compensation provides statutory benefits to an employee as a result of a work related injury or occupational disease.  The benefits cover an employee for medical care, part of lost wages, and full or partial disability benefits as per the statutory state schedules. It also protects employers from employee lawsuits regarding the injury.

Workers Compensation laws vary by state so if your company and/or your employees operate in more than one state you should review your policy to ensure that it is properly endorsed for coverage in the states that you do business.  

Calculating the cost of a workers compensation policy is based on the payroll of each occupational classification so it is important to detail each employee and his or her role in your company.
