Business Owners Insurance
Business insurance policy provides property and liability coverage in one contract. The property coverage is available for both the building and business personal property. The liability coverage is for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, advertising injury, and medical expenses.
It is designed to meet the needs of small to medium sized companies. Typically, businesses that meet the following characteristics are eligible for a business insurance policy: (Please note for certain classes of business, strict underwriting requirements may apply.)
- Artisan contractors such as carpenters, electricians, painters, and plumbers
- Apartments and condominiums not exceeding 6 stories in height or 60 dwelling units
- Office buildings not exceeding 6 stories in height or 100,000 square feet in total floor area
- Convenience stores with gasoline pumps (gas sales are limited to 50% gross sales)
- Mercantile processing and service establishments if the total floor area of the building does not exceed 25,000 sq. feet or exceed annual gross sales of $3 million dollars
- Restaurants limited to fast food types up to 7500 sq. feet
